WHAT ARE CK’s QUALIFICATIONS AND FIELDS OF EXPERTISE?

Celestial Koan does not claim to have any qualifications or fields of expertise. It is actually difficult for a pen name / stage name / brand name to show a birth certificate or any certificates of qualification etc. as readers should appreciate.

The author who writes the books published under the pen name of Celestial Koan does naturally have background experiences, knowledge and qualifications in a number of different areas. Numerous other persons also contribute to the wisdoms and writings found on this site and they too have experiences, qualifications and fields of expertise.

None of this is considered relevant.

Celestial Koan’s claim to wisdom is not based on his expertise, but on the fact that he is a Generalist. This is even truer when the additional contributors to the CK wisdoms are included.

The multiplicity of perspectives necessary to achieve wisdom are not obtained by being an expert or specialist in any particular field, as discussed here.

Wisdom derives from being able to examine a topic from a multiplicity of perspectives with sufficient understanding to be able to perceive the subject as a holistic whole. This multiplicity of viewpoints enables one to see past many of the deceptions and biases that arise from a viewpoint constrained to a single or restricted number of perspectives.

Celestial Koan is someone who has a pretty good idea of how much he doesn’t know.
